CHERRAPUNJI

Cherrapunji was better known as the ‘Jewel Crest of Meghalaya’, is the wettest place on earth. Cherrapunji covers many waterfalls, Living bridges, and receiving the highest rainfall throughout the year.

Cherrapunji is the only place in India, with one season: the monsoon. The best time to visit Cherrapunji is between September to October Months.

There are frequently state buses between Shillong and Cherrapunji. The shared Taxis and Sumo Maxi Cabs are also available to Shillong.

By Rail:

Guwahati is the nearest railway station to Cherrapunji. It is well connected to the entire country and regular trains are available too.

By Air:

The nearest airport in Cherrapunji is Shillong airport. Gopinath Bordoloi Airport in Guwahati which is about 168 kilometres is the nearest international airport in Cherrapunji.
